sheri whitko photographySheri Whitko studied photography at the Pennsylvania State University where she also shot for the school newspaper “The Collegian.” She photographed football games, wrestling matches, rallies, and for editorial pieces.  This is where her candid journalistic style of shooting began.

Sheri has been photographing and running studios since 1997 in Chicago, San Francisco, and New York.  Her mastery in the studio and on location ranges in commercial and portrait work, encountering celebrities such J-Lo, Jessica Simpson, the Olsen twins, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Sean “Puffy” Combs.

She has been published in newspapers and magazines such as “International Herald Tribune,” “AM New York,” “The New York Magazine,” “Manhattan Bride,” “Elegant Bride,” “Bride’s Magazine,” “Biz Bash,” and the “NY Post.” “Today’s Chicago Woman,” “The Chicago Social,” “The San Francisco Gazette,” have also featured her work.

Sheri has enjoyed a broad range of photography.  She has photographed everything from Phil Mickelson and Charles Schwab on the Pebble Beach golf course to married couples in Cabo San Lucas and Napa Valley.  Sheri enjoys the wonderful vignettes into people’s lives when they invite her to photograph their pregnant bellies, newborns, and family portraits.  She has photographed marketing pieces for Spinvox, FEMA training exercises for Inmarsat, head shots for About.com, and house makeovers for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate.  Some other corporate clients include About.com, Dom Pérignon, Moët Hennessy, MasterCard, Accessories Council, and Target.

After many years of photographing weddings, Sheri was the bride. The experience made her appreciate the gift of her career path even more. It was an amazing experience for her, which she brings to every event. She sees her camera as her passport to unique places and special moments. You'll first notice her smile, but her fun yet calming demeanor is something bride’s have thanked her for even while they are still on their honeymoon.

Sheri lives and works in Brooklyn Heights, with the accompaniment of her husband, Anar Desai, and their cat, Luna.  Please call or email Sheri to discuss your special event, portrait, or commercial project.
